About Bloc by Bloc: Uprising
Bloc by Bloc: Uprising is a cooperative and semi-cooperative strategy game by Greg Loring-Albright and T.L. Simons. Players lead the Workers, Students, Neighbors, or Prisoners through a city that changes from game to game, balancing shared resistance against their faction’s own ambitions.
The official third-edition overview frames the game around revolutionary politics and street-level tactics. Players build barricades, confront police, occupy districts, establish mutual-aid networks, and try to liberate the city before the military arrives. How to play in one minute
- Set up the changing city, choose a faction, and place the police and shared tracks.
- Take turns using your faction’s actions to move through districts, build barricades, and pursue liberation.
- Work together against police pressure while deciding when to advance your own faction’s goals.
- Use the game’s evolving city and narrative choices to adapt your plans.
- Liberate and defend enough of the city before the military arrives to achieve the game’s victory conditions.
